Xpert MTB/RIF
The upgraded version of the existing test has increased sensitivity. To detect the presence of tuberculosis bacilli, Nested Real-time PCR is employed targeting Insertion Elements IS1081 and IS6110. Additionally, mutations in four regions of the rpoB gene are determined through Melt Curve Analysis to ascertain the presence of rifampicin resistance.
