TB Real-time PCR
This method offers higher sensitivity compared to acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smear microscopy and provides faster results than AFB culture. It utilizes specific IS6110 and mycobacteria ITS genes to differentiate Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and over 40 types of non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM).
